What is recorded here
Detached six-bay two-storey former stables, c. 1870. Limestone rubble walls with replacement metal windows and replacement timber doors. Granite dressings with brick relieving arches to openings. Cast-iron ventilation grills and ventilation slits with brick dressings to north wall. Segmental carriage arch in west wall. Pitched and hipped slate roof.
A handsome, balanced, simply articulated building that retains the air of its former use. More humble than the house and coach house as it is not seen from the approach. Excellent group survival of house, coach house, stables and yard and boundary walls of this property.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
