What is recorded here

Fish ponds are depicted on Ledwich's map of c.1790, these are shown as lying immediately W of Moinaincha Island. This area is now planted with conifers with no visible trace of the fish ponds. These are possibly of eighteenth-century date but may be earlier so are included in the RMP. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
