Field system in Letterbrone

In level upland pasture, adjacent to a cashel (SL036-040001-), on the southern slopes of the Ox Mountains. The adjoining fields to SW and SE of the cashel are under coniferous forest. The cashel is within a large rectangular field which overlaps or supersedes the remains of the walls shown radiating to W, NE and E from the perimeter of the cashel on the 1914 OS 6-inch map. These walls remain as moss-covered jumbles of stone (Wth c. 1.5m; H 0.3-0.5m) two of which, 15m apart, subdivide the NE end of the rectangular field. There are remains of similar walls nearby.
