Field system in Derreenauliff

This site is located in bog E of the Bunnow river, and overlooks Kenmare Bay to S. It occupies an area roughly 150m square in extent and consists of a number of walls, some of which form rectilinear fields. The walls occur within a section of cut-away bog, .6m deep below surrounding ground level. Most are orientated E-W and protrude on average only .3m above the ground surface. The enclosed fields are visible on the bog surface and are orientated NE-SW. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
