Field boundary in Knockanuha

In hill pasture, on a SW-facing slope to the N of Carran Mountain. An E-W curvilinear stone wall extends (L c. 200m) from a stream at E to another stream at W. A shorter stretch of wall (L c. 60m) branches to the NW from the centre of the curvilinear wall, then veers W and terminates at the stream to the W. The walls (T 0.2m; H 0.75m) are collapsed with fallen stones protruding through the bog. The walls appear to be set on clay soil beneath blanket bog and, where the depth of the bog increases, the walls disappear. Upright stones (H 0.75m) occur at intervals along the walls. Four hut sites (KE094-026005-, KE094-026006-, KE094-026010-, KE094-026011-) abut the S face of the curving field boundary.
