What is recorded here
Seven hut sites and one enclosure sit inside the branching stone walls, while a lone cairn watches from eight metres south. The wall leaves the stream bank, splits into two ribbons, and forces both ribbons to return against the same outcropping rock. That is not a random heap of stones. It is a shaped field, still holding the outline of the people who lived inside it.
In rough hill pasture, on a S-facing slope, in the valley of Coomeelan stream. The remains of a curvilinear stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) protrude above the surface of the bog and extend (L c. 60m) to the E from the E bank of a stream. From here the wall branches into two sections, one to the SE and the second to the N. The first branch (L c. 85m) extends to the SE and then curves E. Following a break, the branch continues for a distance of c. 70m to the N and then to the W where it abuts the W side of outcropping rock. The second section branches to the N and then curves to the E for c. 70m where it abuts the W side of the same outcropping rock. Six hut sites (KE103-006003-, KE103-006004-, KE103-006005-, KE103-006006-, KE1030-06007-, KE103-006008-) and an enclosure (KE103-006----) are within the network of walls. There is a cairn (KE103-006002-) 8m to the S.
