Field boundary in Fustane Lower

In rough hill pasture, on the S-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain. A section of relict field wall (T 0.5m; H 0.4m), consisting of upright stones set at right angles to the line of the wall, protrudes intermittently above the surface of bog. The wall originates c. 25m E of a hut site (KE084-023004-) and meanders (L c. 130m) in a general W to SW direction as far as the river bank. Midway along this stretch, a N-S wall extends for a distance of c. 60m to the S where it disappears into the bog. Most of the stones are collapsed and embedded in the peat.
