Field boundary in Esk West

In rough undulating pasture, in the valley of the Esk stream. Curvilinear stretches of collapsed stone walls (T 0.7m; H 0.4m) protrude intermittently above the surface of the bog and indicate a network of relict field walls extending over a roughly square area (c. 300m NNW-SSE; c. 300m WSW-ENE). Several gaps were noted where the walls extend into the bog. Loose stones from the walls are scattered downslope.
