Turners Rock has a prominence of approximately 300 metres and is part of the rolling uplands of west Cork. It lies within the Shehy Mountains, an area characterised by Carboniferous limestone and glacial features. The site is locally significant for its scenic value and potential archaeological remains in the surrounding uplands.
