What is recorded here
Detached three-bay single-storey farm cottage, c.1820, with projecting flat-roofed porch. Roughcast rendered walls with steel casement windows. Pitched slate roof with gable copings and central chimney stack. Lean-to shed to west. Single-storey rubble stone barn with corrugated iron roof to the east. Cylindrical rubble stone gate piers.
Situated in a rarely used section of old road, this cottage is remarkably unchanged, particularly internally, where the fittings and decoration date back to the beginning of the twentieth century. Retains gate piers of a local design. A nostalgic reminder of earlier farming years which forms a good group with the farm to the south.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
