Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, built c.1825, having a projecting gable-fronted entrance porch to the centre of the front façade (south) and a single-bay single-storey extension to the east gable end. Pitched natural slate roof with two rendered chimneystacks, one to the centre and one to the east gable end. Roughcast rendered walls over rubble stone construction having square-headed openings with replacement fittings. Set back from road with complex of roughcast rendered outbuildings (15403004), having square-headed openings and pitched natural slate roof to the south, running perpendicular to the front of the house. Main entrance to the south comprising a pair of roughcast rendered gate piers, on circular plan, having wrought-iron gates. Gate piers have conical caps formed of pebbles. Rubble limestone boundary walls to the east and west of gateway. Located to the west of Mount Temple.

A good quality vernacular house, which retains much of its early form and character despite the loss of the early fittings to the openings in recent years. Buildings of this type were once very numerous in the Irish countryside. However, they are now becoming increasing rare making this example an interesting and important survival. The position of the chimneystacks suggests that this structure was extended to the west at some stage. The complex of outbuildings (15403004) to the southeast creates a forecourt to the front of this house, which is a common feature of vernacular farmyard complexes in areas dominated by a pastoral/dairy agricultural economy. These outbuildings, along with the appealing vernacular gateway and rubble stone boundary walls to the south, combine to make this a notable and picturesque example of a vernacular farmyard complex and a worthy addition to the built heritage of the local area.
