Oran More holds a stone ringfort that local stories call a fairy fort, blending human history and myth in one place. The distinction matters because people built ringforts to live in, defend themselves and mark ownership of land. Fairy names appear when human memory thins, when the shape becomes unfamiliar or when the place stops serving the lives that made it. The stones may have belonged to a family, a farm or a small settlement before imagination moved in.
