Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Loughros Glebe

Internal diam. c. 16m E-W, c. 18m N-S. A subcircular area bounded by the remains of a drystone wall up to 2.14m in width. A 2m wide gap on the ENE may indicate the original entrance. There is a lot of stone scattered over the interior. An 8m long channel .2m deep and 2m wide runs close to the W side of the cashel. Adjacent to the outside edge on the S is a well, cut into the underlying rock. The site is located on top of a flat-topped hill with steep falls to the E and W in a commanding position with reasonable pasture.
