Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Knockaculleen OR Hollymount is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Knockaculleen OR Hollymount, County Roscommon, Ireland. The D-shaped site measures about 26 metres by 15 metres on a steep ridge, where a grass-covered stone spread backs onto a five-metre cliff edge. A man-made underground passage occupies the southwest interior, while Cashel stands 180 metres to the south-southwest.
On a steep-sided NE-SW ridge with rock outcrop in a low-lying landscape. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims c. 26m NE-SW; c. 15m NW-SE) defined by a grass-covered stone spread with some bushes (Wth 1.75-2.25m; int. H 0.1-0.5m; ext. H 0.6-0.8m) SW-N-NE which backs onto a cliff edge (H c. 5m) at SE. There is no visible entrance, but there are some quarries in the interior. Man-made underground passage (RO006-165002-) is in the SW quadrant of the interior. Cashel (RO010-018----) is c. 180m to the SSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
