Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Ballyclogh (pubblebrien By.)

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible ringfort exists in Ballyclogh, County Limerick, but the lost boundary once stood beside the Limerick Golf Course car park. That absent circle belongs to the region’s layered history, where human occupation, belief and memory still shape ordinary ground. The place retains life through loss: what disappeared is still named, remembered and imagined.
Situated on a S facing slope, with good views to S and E, in the car park of Limerick Golf Course. The monument, which is depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1841 OS 6-inch map (diam. c. 20m) is no longer evident. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 27 March 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
