Fairy fort in Meenahoney, County Donegal: a ringfort in gently rolling good land with wide views, so steady and clear it belongs to human hands even when folklore claims it. The absence of a fort on the first edition OS 6-inch map does not erase the place; it reminds us that maps often arrive late, naming what people already knew or had stopped seeing. In that open country, a small defended or marked home would have stood out, watched the valleys, and given birth to the fairy story because the shape still felt larger than ordinary life.

There is no sign of the 'Fort' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was situated in gently rolling good land with good views.
