Half a mile west of Ballynaglack, a thin field fence still bows across the grass where Ganges Fort stood. The ringfort kept good land on a sharp western and southern cliff, giving its people wide views and a sudden deadly edge. Men may have fought there, watched weather come, or simply marked the boundary between home and the void.

Only a curving field fence and local tradition indicates the situation of 'Ganges' Fort'. It was situated on the edge of a sharp drop to the W and S in good land with wide views.
