Fairy fort in Tattintlieve, County Monaghan: a circular grass ring, 31.5m across east-west, bounded by an earthen bank and shallow outside ditch on the south-facing drumlin slope. Its southeast gap is barely wider than a person beside a cart, yet the whole enclosure faces the open sky like a chamber with no roof. People may have kept livestock, marked a boundary, or simply made a shape large enough to be remembered; the earth still holds that shape.

Situated towards the top of the S-facing slope of a drumlin. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 31.5m E-W; 28.2m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at E: Wth of base 4.2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.75m) with some bushes and an external fosse (at E; Wth of base 0.9m; D 0.4m), with an outer field bank SW-N-NE. The entrance (Wth of base 2.7m) is at SE.
