What is recorded here

Located on a rise on a N-facing slope. This is a raised circular grass-covered area (diam. 37.5m E-W; 36m N-S) defined by an earthen bank separated by a fosse from an outer bank (Wth of base 3.5m; Wth of top 1.3m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.2m) that is only intact W-N. A farm lane occupies the site of the fosse and the outer bank E-S-W, and the monument is surrounded by a complete but collapsed and grass-covered field wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
