Fairy fort in Springtown, County Longford: a 30 m earthen ring on a low pasture knoll, marked ‘Fort’ on the 1837 OS 6-inch map. Its gentle scarp, one to one and a half metres high, now curves into a field boundary from east-southeast through south to south-southwest. No ditch remains and the entrance has vanished, yet the circle still holds its shape among grass and passing stock.

On a low knoll in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A circular area (diam. 30m) defined by a gentle scarp (H 1-1.5m), which has been incorporated into a curving field boundary from ESE-S-SSW.
