Fairy fort in Skevanish: an earthen ringfort on a south-west slope above the Bandon River, still visible as a slight rise in farmland. Aerial photography revealed its circular shape, but people may have walked past it for generations, seeing only a bump in the ground. The river below carried life and danger; the fort stood above both, marking a place where human hands shaped the land before memory faded.
