No visible wall remains above the soil in Russellstown, only a hidden circular scar beneath a modern garden centre. The earth may still hold its shape under plastic tunnels and potting benches, waiting for rain or digging to reveal what the bog edge kept for centuries.

Marked on the 1st ed. (1838) of the OS 6-inch map as a small circular area (est. max. diam. c. 25m) defined by a bank. Described in 1986 as only surviving as a cropmark of weeds in a hay-field (SMR file). On level improved pasture at the N edge of a large tract of bog. The area is now used as a garden centre and, while the site is overlain by plastic tunnels, sub-surface deposits may survive intact. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
