Fairy fort in Rathnee, County Cork: a shallow earthen ring, 39 metres across, with a smaller raised disc at its heart, overlooking Ballyclogh. People called it a fairy fort because the shape seemed made for hidden life rather than human housing. In that belief, the field became a place to wonder at instead of a hole to dig.

In pasture, on W-facing slope, overlooking Ballyclogh village. Circular slightly raised area (39m N-S; 37m E-W) defined by gradual scarp (H 0.4m). Interior saucer-shaped; at centre is circular slightly raised area (diam. c. 4m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
