What is recorded here

Fairy forts are usually small, round and old. In Rathcooney the fort has vanished under farm work, but the name and a nearby cooking site still mark the place. What looked like a fairy home may have been an ordinary human dwelling, forgotten until measurement and mapping brought it back.

In tillage, on W-facing slope. Shown as circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; field fence running through W bank on 1904 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace.
