The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Sub-circular raised platform (int. dims. 36m NW-SE, c. 32m SW-NE, H 2.8m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.3m) with U-shaped fosse (Wth 5-7m, D 1m) at its base. Modern earth and stone field fence along the outer edge of the fosse may incorporate remains of an outer bank. Ancient entrance gap (Wth 1.9m) and causeway across the fosse (Wth 2.5m, H 0.8m) at NE.
