Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Parkplace,aghanvally stands in rolling pasture as a possible rath nearly sixty-five metres across. Its low earth-and-stone bank still circles part of the ground, but modern field boundaries cut through the north-east, east and south-east sections. A wide waterlogged ditch marks the outer edge, while a motte rises inside the broken ring. The site may have been a fortified home, a boundary marker or a place of story, yet its shape still suggests someone shaped the land to keep rain, danger or memory at a distance.

In rolling pasture. This possible rath (diam. c. 65m) is defined by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.9m; H 0.6m), which has been destroyed from NNE–E–SSE due to the construction of modern field boundaries. At the external base of the bank is a wide, waterlogged depression (Wth 5.3-8m; D 0.3-0.75m). The interior is occupied by a motte (LF023-059----). Compiled by: Patrick F.
