What is recorded here
Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Newtowndarver: A 50m circular enclosure with a narrow 3m bank and deep fosse, sitting on the eastern summit of Windmill Hill. It is the kind of place where ordinary farms end and human memory begins.
Located towards the E end of the summit of the low E-W ridge of Windmill Hill. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. 50m) defined by a fosse NE-S-NW is visible on Google Earth (18/06/2017; 21/04/2019). On the earlier image it appears to have narrow bank (Wth c. 3m), and it was first reported by Anthony Murphy.
