Mylane holds two earthen rings, one above the other, proving the land accepted repeated human claiming. The upper fort measures thirty-three and a half metres across, with a one-metre bank, shallow outer ditch and a gap facing south-southwest. Conifers now grow through the bank, and a farm track passes within arm’s reach of its west side. The lower ring waits below on smaller ground, suggesting this was not a single impulse but a continued local choice.

In pasture. Circular area (diam. 33.5m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.3m) with external fosse (D 0.7m). Bank planted with coniferous trees; entrance to SSW. Fosse partially filled in. Surrounding field fences removed; farm trackway skirts enclosure on W side. Ringfort (8528) on lower ground to WSW.
