Fairy fort in Mitchellsfort, County Cork: a 26-metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope, its shallow ditch and worn bank marking a home old enough to be called fairy. Inside, faint cultivation ridges still run east-west, suggesting people lived there, not ghosts. The name may be later folklore, but the shape is human: a small defensible field on a hillside, built and reused until it became local legend.

In pasture, on E-facing slope. Circular area (26m N-S; 27.5m E-W) defined by earthen bank (H 1.6m); shallow fosse. Bank low NNE->SE, S->SW; traces ancient stone facing in parts. Interior level; faint cultivation ridges run E-W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
