Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lissareemig: In pasture, atop drumlin. Circular area (26.9m N-S; 27.4m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.3m); external fosse (D 0.25m) W->S. Bank topped by stone wall W->NNE. Gap in bank to NNE (Wth 1.6m); NE (Wth 2.2m); and S (Wth 7.7m) with causeway. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
