Mortons and Firths still point to the Lismoyle fort as a fairy dwelling, yet human hands shaped the earth decades or centuries before mythology claimed it. The western slope faces the rising moon, and the missing entrance may have aligned with that light rather than ordinary travel. A person who lived there would have watched the sky turn above the drumlin, knowing the land could give up its secrets only to patience.

Situated on the W-facing slope of a low drumlin. This is a grass-covered subcircular earthen platform (dims 29m E-W; 26m N-S; H 0.45m) surrounded by traces of a fosse (Wth 1.5m) suggested by lush vegetation. The original entrance is not identified.
