Magic and myth are not the same. The chamber of the Red Queen is a fairy fort, an earthen ring on a hill in County Cork. It is a real place, old and human, not a fantasy world. The story is not that the chamber is fake. The story is that people still want to believe the chamber is a toy for imagination. That is the danger. You are not discovering a hidden world. You are repeating a child's mistake. The chamber is a record. It shows when people stopped measuring and started inventing. That is why it is dangerous. It feeds the part of you that would rather wonder than know the truth.

In pasture, atop hill. Circular slightly raised area (internal diam. 27m E-W; 24m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.22m; ext. H 1.62m). Bank heavily overgrown; best preserved E->NW; incorporated into field fence system to S. Cattle gap in bank to NE (Wth 0.5m) and NNW (Wth 1.4m). Interior planted with coniferous trees; N half level, S half higher, sloping down to N. Aerial photographic evidence suggests that this ringfort was levelled in the late 1990s.
