Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lickadoon

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Lickadoon, County Limerick: a levelled ringfort still visible as a shallow scarped circle in pasture. Its edge survives at fifteen centimetres, wide enough to mark the old boundary though a pump house and garden fence have cut into it. The land remembers the shape even when the buildings have forgotten it.
Located in level pasture. Monument, depicted on the 1924 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. 30m) has been levelled but is still evident as a sub-circular area (28m N-S; 25.5m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (Wth 4m; H 0.15m). The scarp is truncated to the E by a modern garden fence and a pump house has been built in the NE quadrant. The interior slopes gently down to W.
