What is recorded here

Knockavanny holds a subcircular earthen ringfort on a rise above low-lying grassland, its two stone-lined banks and intervening fosse still drawing a clear boundary across the land. The eastern gap appears original rather than a wound of time, as if the circle intended to breathe or admit someone known. In a county where such forts are scattered like forgotten markers, this one remains visible enough to walk through and imagine the lives that turned its banks into habit.

On a rise in otherwise low-lying grassland. Subcircular ringfort (E-W 44m, N-S 41.8m), in fair condition, defined by two stone-lined banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from NE through E to S; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The outer bank does not survive from W to NW. A gap at ESE appears original.
