What is recorded here

Knockaunavad held a thirty-metre earthen ring on a steep slope, but ploughs and greed erased most of its shape. A scarped edge still breaks the grass along the northern curve, rising one and a half metres where the bank resisted forgetting. The fairies kept their fort by refusing to be owned, witnessed only in the line they left behind when people tried to take the hill.

In pasture, on steep NW-facing slope, below brow of hill. Monument, depicted on 1923 OS 6-inch map as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) contained within SE corner of field, has been levelled. However, scarped edge can be traced WNW->ENE, which grades from very faint (H 0.1m; Wth 1.95m) at NW and NE to more pronounced at N (H 1.65m; Wth 9.2m). Interior level and under pasture.
