What is recorded here
Kill holds a broken fairy fort where a sharp scarp still cuts across a circular space twenty-eight metres wide. The true entrance has vanished, yet the earth keeps its shape and excludes everyone it does not wish to admit.
Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. A circular area (int. diam. c. 28m) defined by a scarp from NE-S-W. Original entrance not recognisable.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
