Kilcurly holds a broken earthen ring where a sharp seven-metre scarp still cuts the grass, marking the edge of a home that stopped being useful long before it stopped existing. The bank rises half a metre on one side and vanishes on the other, as if the field swallowed the part people stopped needing. A house is not a monument until it loses its doors, kitchens and arguments; after that it becomes a shape for memory to occupy.

In pasture, on gently undulating terrain. Circular area (23m N-S; 23.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.25m) NNE->SE and defined by scarped edge (H 0.7m; Wth 7.7m) SE->NNE. Scarp, best preserved W->E, becomes very low and barely perceptible SE->SW. Interior, under pasture, dips slightly down towards centre. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
