What is recorded here

Kilcoke held a thirty-metre earthen ring until 1968 when machinery erased it. The soil swallowed the fort but grass still grows taller there because roots remember the shape of walls humans forgot.

Marked on the 1840 and 1909 editions of the OS 6-inch map; a subcircular area (max. dims. c. 30m E-W, 25m N-S). The site was levelled in 1968 (OPW file). No visible surface remains but the site is clearly visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (GSI, S 76-7).
