Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human rings, built by human hands, and called fairy forts because people stopped understanding them. In Glenaclara West the ring sits on a hillock above pastureland, partly overwritten by later fields but still readable as a made shape. The fairy name is not wonder, it is amnesia. Build something strong enough to survive the death of its makers and it will become magical in the mouths of the people who forgot why it exists.

On the summit of hillock in undulating pastureland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subrectangular enclosure (c. 36m ENE-WSW; c. 25m N-S) overlain by field boundaries along the S and W sides.
