Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Garranmaconly — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

No entrance, no gate, no door. The fort in Garranmaconly has a wall and a ditch but no visible way in, as if the boundary was drawn for someone who could walk through earth or leave before dawn. Its shape is almost round, forty-four metres across, with a bank thick enough to hold a life inside and a shallow ditch outside to keep the world at a distance. People called it a fairy fort because the rules stopped making sense at that line.

A sub circular area (diam c. 44.7m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 3.4m, int. H c. 1.2m, ext. H c. 0.7m) and by an external fosse (WTH c. 2.8m) at SE. No evidence of original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
