Situated on a low rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views to S, W and N and overlooked by higher ground to E. Monument described in 1971 as a subcircular shaped area (dims. 37m N-S; 31.5m E-W) enclosed by a bank and external fosse. The bank is high and has almost been reduced to a scarp. It is disturbed by quarrying and has several cattle gaps, however a wider gap (Wth at top 5.7m; basal Wth 2.5m) at SE may represent the entrance. A modern stone wall running NW-SE extends just outside the scarp from N-NE. There are slight traces of an external fosse visible from NE-E-S-W-N. The interior has a general ESE-facing slope. The surface of the interior has been dug away in places and there are large rock outcrops elsewhere within. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien.
