Marianne and her children walked beside the fort on a summer evening when the grass leaned under a sudden wind. She touched the warm earth and heard children laughing inside the wall. The fort had no door, yet it opened for whoever stopped running from fear. Marianne stepped through with her children and returned changed, carrying a small jar of honey that never emptied.

Located at the crest of the S end of a short NE-SW drumlin ridge. It was described in 1991 an overgrown circular area (diam. c. 45m) defined by an intermittently visible earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; H 0.4m), and an external fosse visible only as a band of lush vegetation (Wth 3m) at SW. The growth appears to have been largely cleared from the monument (Bing 2013). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
