Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Magic and imagination enliven the story. History and evidence must still judge the claim.
Not marked on OS 1836 or 1876 eds. Situated on the summit of a low drumlin hill. Although the site was levelled in the early 1950s, the outline of the perimeter may still be traced. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 December 2008
