Fairy forts are human in origin and function but the name suggests a different kind of tenant. That is not fantasy, it is a warning about memory. The chamber must be judged by the danger it records and the clarity it still gives. The claimant must be named, the victim must be identified and the harm must be described without inventing facts.

Raised roughly circular area (int. dims. c. 43m NW-SE; c. 40m NE-SW) enclosed by a very substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. Traces of a low counterscarp bank at the outer lip of the fosse from E-S-SW and from WNW-NNE are almost certainly relatively modern in date. Break in bank with accompanying causeway at SSE represents original entrance. Internal area very overgrown with vegetation.
