What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Drumbaun, County Longford: a circular earthwork marked 'Fort' on the 1837 Ordnance Survey map, now hidden beneath low-lying pasture. It may have been a boundary marker, a shelter, or a child's fort for rain days. The land keeps its shape even when people stop naming it.
On a slight rise in low-lying pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument is not visible at ground level.
