Fairy fort in Dromore, County Leitrim: a subcircular earthen ringfort about 23m wide, with a low scarp and faint fosse traces, no visible entrance, beside a smaller annexe 70m north. It sits in wet pasture at the base of a SE-facing slope, ordinary enough for grass and rain, yet shaped like a threshold. Perhaps people entered where the bank hides now, or perhaps the fort keeps its door closed to ordinary sight.

Situated in improved pasture, on low-lying, poorly drained ground, at the base of a SE-facing slope. This is a subcircular area (diam. c. 23m E-W; c. 21m N-S) defined by a low scarp (at WNW: Wth 2.5m; H 0.3m). There are traces of a fosse (at WNW: Wth of top 4.4m; Wth of base 1.3m; D 0.1m) NE-S-NW but it is truncated by an E-W field bank at N. There is no visible entrance. The annexe (LE031-007001-) of rath (LE031-007----) is c. 70m to the N. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 11 May, 2015
