What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Derrynagasha is a circular earthen ringfort on a south-facing slope in County Cork. Its bank and scarp still mark a broad round chamber, while the interior was cut and raised to level the hill. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the land became pasture, but the shape still holds like a forgotten room waiting to be remembered.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (45.9m N-S; 44.3m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.35m) W->ESE; scarp (H 1.5m) ESE->W. Traces of fosse to N->NE, S and SW, recently infilled. Interior cut into upslope on Nside; raised on S side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
