Fairy fort in Derryleigh, County Cork, is an earthen ringfort with a 2.6m entrance to the SE and a waterlogged fosse to the SSE. It sits on an ESE-facing slope about 80m north of a stream, enclosed by a bank rising 1.2m inside a roughly circular space 25m wide and 23m deep. People may have lived there, marked territory, or simply avoided the fairies who still own the rain-softened earth.

In reclaimed pasture, on ESE-facing slope, c. 80m to N of stream. Roughly circular area (25m E-W; 23m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (max. int. H 1.2m); external fosse (max. D 1m) SSE->ENE. Entrance to SE (Wth 2.6m). Fosse waterlogged to SSE. Surrounding field fences removed. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
