What is recorded here

Currycreaghan holds a forgotten ringfort, its twenty-two-metre circle buried beneath low-lying pasture. The 1837 map still claims the fort, but grass and time have erased the entrance and boundary. What remains is a hidden shape, perhaps a dwelling, perhaps a delusion of the surveyor. The land keeps its own secrets, refusing to show what it once protected.

In low-lying, level pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded a raised circular area (diam. c. 22m) enclosed by a wide low bank of earth and stone.
