Ghost forts hide in plain sight, waiting for memory to return them.

Bowman (1934, 718) records levelled, single-ramparted, fort (diam. c. 25yd) on Eugene Linehan's land 'called Lissafooka (Lios an Phuca) - fort of the ghost'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
